Real Options and Energy Management
- Book Review (submitted on 29 June 2011):

Anyone involved in the analysis of optionality in the management of energy assets as well as related deal structuring activities should have this book as a reference on their desks. The book outlines consistently the economic fundamentals of option pricing and its application to real cases, where the value of real options analysis is shown without disregarding the underlying computational appproaches to pricing / hedging. It was good to see how overlaps between several authors were minimized and also how friendly the contents were organized and sequenced for ease of understanding.
I would have liked to see a few examples on the LNG industry and probably some Excel / VBA models attached to this book, but this could not undermine the overall quality of the contents cited above.
An excelent reference for all of us involved in the Energy industry.
